An enormously empathetic performer... The show’s great asset is Davis. This really is a very complex performance…
— Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune

Welcome, you're in the right place.

E.M. Davis here — I am a trans/non-binary actor and proud member of Actors Equity who, five months ago, moved from Chicago to Los Angeles - where I’m currently performing in Pasadena Playhouse’s Cyrano de Bergerac. Starring Chukwudi Iwuji (Guardians of the Galaxy III) and directed by Mike Donahue, who helmed their nationally acclaimed Little Shop of Horrors a few seasons ago, it’s been receiving fantastic reviews so far!

A recipient of the inaugural Sarah Siddons Society Professional Development Grant, I have had the pleasure of working onstage with Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Goodman Theatre, Northlight, A Red Orchid Theatre, among others, and was one of the faces of the JobsOhio campaign during March Madness. I have also performed regionally at South Coast Rep’s Pacific Playwrights Festival and the Colorado New Play Fest. Prior to that, I worked opposite T.L. Thompson and Brittany Adebumola in The CW's 4400, while the story of my transition is featured in the documentary I Am Me.

After my successful tenure as Artistic Director of the award-winning Broken Nose Theatre, I have expanded my focus to producing films as well. The first self-funded short, I'm Pretty Sure My Therapist Thinks I'm a Bad Actor, in which I star opposite Elizabeth Laidlaw (CBS's The Red Line), is now enjoying its festival run; after making its West Coast Premiere of Dances with Films LA and winning “Best Comedy Short” at the FunnyAF Festival, it will next play at the Oscar-Qualifying Micheaux Film Festival in L.A.

My second self-produced short, How’d It Go, directed by Laidlaw and including SAG Ensemble Winner Jose Cervantes (FX's The Bear) among its cast, is currently in post-production.

Look around. Enjoy your stay. And if you're looking for your friendly queer neighborhood Spider-Man, you now know where to find me!

P.S. I’m currently seeking L.A. representation. If you’re a West Coast agent, manager, or know someone who is, I’d love to hear from you/them. Thanks so much!
